foam hawaiian wedding theme flowers

Well Clam season opened this weekend but not for this gal.. With homecoming going on and some other events that I needed at the shop…while .. Gary played and I worked!

Business was rather good this year for homecoming. I believe that people are beginning to know that I am here for good …one way or another….I worked mass hours on Friday and Saturday and actually found myself working Sunday and today also which is normally my day off…but I have another funeral tomorrow to be completed and also a wedding that I have been working hard on this coming up weekend, along with homecoming in Toledo. This is the wedding with the Hawaiian Flowers (Silks/foam) from Hawaii. It has been alot of fun doing it and it is for a special friend to boot… Here are some pictures of the flowers but I am not totally done.

I will be taking pictures of all this when it is completed before Shawna picks them up. I will be helping them get arch all decorated for this wedding. It is going to be awesome when the time comes.. Most definitely a Hawaiian Theme…Can’t wait to see it finally together…

Well everyone have an awesome Fall.

Halloween is just about around the corner, so until next time CHOW!

CHEESE DAY 2009

Hot Roddin' the streets of Toledo

What a great day it was! We took off at 7:00 to head to Toledo as it was going to be a busy day for us. First we had breakfast, then I picked up flowers for the coronation for Cheese Day Queen and then we went to where the Car Show was going to be and proceeded walking up and down all the cars looking for just the right car that would be represented and receive the sponsorship sticker from the shop…

TwistedVine Floral and Gifts’ Choice car is:

classic car sponsorship
This car is owned by Dennis Rogalinski from Mineral/Packwood area. The chosen car is a: 1931 Ford Model A (Prostreet 383 480hp). First glance of this car caught my eye because of the color.. as being a floral designer color is very important. The awesome teal green color body and lime green motor / purple hoses, not to forget mentioning the class and style, made this sweet looking car a perfect pick for TwistedVine Floral & Gift Sponsorship Award winning car.. Congratulations Dennis.

See you at Napavine Funtime Festival and for you that are attending N.F.F. go over and check out our pick and say hello to Dennis.

Once the judging was over I went down and helped decorate the Class of 59 Float which was designed like the old Shake Shop an place that was the hang out not for only that era but also for many years more..even in my class time in 71. Over all it was a totally awesome day.. Lots of fun and laughter and two tired people at the end of the day!

Hope you enjoy the pictures and look for more to come as Napavine Funtime is the weekend of July 17,18,19

Enjoy,
Sharon

Our Great Friend

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Last weekend we lost a very important person in our lives and the community’s life.

ROY FILLA.

Now some of you may know him if you live around the area and some may not personally know him, but have heard about him. Roy was awesome.. He meant the world to our family for many reasons. He was not only Our Great Friend but he was also Gary’s employer for many years while Roy was in the logging business, as Gary drove log truck for him.

Roy and his wife Rosemary left a Legacy behind as he was a very giving person. He employed alot of people- providing them with a job, food on their table and even medical insurance. He cared about his workers and let them know it in his own special way. He gave lots to the community and his family was down to earth people. They knew how much it meant to be hard working and dependable for not only them self but every around them.. Their son Rich and I was best friends and came to Toledo the same year. Rich was from Toutle and me from Kelso.

Roy began in logging using horses – moved on with machine logging and employed somewhere up to 250 people and had over 14 sides. He retired and sold his business giving one side to his son Rich as he was the one who fell in his dad’s foot steps. Once Roy was finally retired he took up is old hobby and went back to raising Belgian horses and farming and did so up to the day of passing. Roy was very active at 90 years old.. Loading hay, feeding his animals and when he had a chance visiting with all that came around or across his path along the way.

He will greatly be missed. So with saying that I had the privilege to do a couple pieces for his memorial service..

Until we meet again.. God bless and enjoy life to the fullest.
