Well the time has come where the economy and health won out. It has been a journey with lots of ups and downs but with my passion for design I just continued to forge forward.. until this month. Without warning I began having some health issues and I believe most of it is related to stress/anxiety and also a bad economy.
I have been for sometime watching many small town business closing up around here, thinking and hoping I could hang on but it just isn’t happening. The decision to close the shop was made last week and my last day is December 11th, 2009.
My dream came true and for the most part was fulfilled and but my journey is cut short.
I can’t thank all my customers enough.. You stood behind me 100%. That is the hardest thing for me as I close my doors….Each and every one of you.
I am taking a cooler home and then will be taking some time off to get myself back in good shape… with my health and emotionally, spend some quality time with my husband and family. And those of you who know me… I will always dabble in flowers as it is a passion of mine so don’t forget me….
So long to ALL !! TwistedVine Floral & Gifts

The day has come to say farewell to a Great Friend of ours. It was a long courageous fight and you showed overwhelming strength, to each and every one of us, as he battled cancer for many years. The ups and downs were unbelievable but he never once gave up. We will miss you and totally realize how lucky we were to have you in our world.

“FOREVER”
in the hearts of those who you touch!
Until we meet again Friend…

ABATE’s Toys for Tot and Food drive is just around the corner. Every year this great motorcycle group from Lewis County has this huge event to help the local people in the community get through the holidays.. As we all know that life has been a little tough financially for some and what a way to give to others.
ABATE has a great motorcycle parade through town, along with the toy and food drive. There’s pictures for the kids with Santa Claus, this year they are having a cake walk, followed by a nice dinner and auction that ends with a great band and lots of dancing and visiting.
What this group does for the community is totally awesome. So this year I wanted to do something for their auction and instead of it being a Christmas theme .. I wanted it to be something that they could hang all year long. Check out the picture of the wreath I chose to do. I went to the Harley shop in Olympia and got a few items along with some of the gift items I carried at the shop and put it together. There is still some touch ups to do before it is complete.. But it most definitely is original. I am hoping that it will bring in good money for a cause that is well worth it. I will let you know

The Football Team and Cheerleaders prepped for their last home game before play offs.. or as it’s called around here “Senior Night.” The town really supports the kids which is totally awesome. TIGER PRIDE for sure. This candy bar bouquet and Arrangement was made for two of the Sr kids that one played on the football team and the other was his girlfriend and she was a cheerleader. I have brought into my shop suckers from Katie’s Candy and it has been fun incorporating them into the candy bouquets and flowers. The kids are digging them also as it adds that little special pride touch!

A friend of ours passed away unexpectedly. What a shock it was to all of us. Gary had worked along with my Gary and many others for years. It was a great lost to all who knew him. The floral arrangement shown here was from a co-worker of Gary’s when he worked for a local fuel delivery business. Gary’s humor and smile will be missed but never forgotten.

As you can see Halloween came through like a gust of wind. Not alot goes on in the shop for Halloween but will say that the town had a little parade. Not for the people but for everyone’s pets. They had a Pet Halloween Parade. Some of the dogs were dressed to the hilt, like this little girl and her standard poodle all decked out like Pumpkins.

Even Mo while laying at home thought maybe I should buff up a little and put on a show for everyone at this parade. This dog really strutted his stuff in his dinosaur costume. but seriously that isn’t our dog MO , He is a friends dog. (But wow if it wasn’t for the size- their coloring and marking are pretty much close.. Oh yeah.. MO he stayed home and played with his giant ball in the warmth of his house.

Well Clam season opened this weekend but not for this gal.. With homecoming going on and some other events that I needed at the shop…while .. Gary played and I worked!
Business was rather good this year for homecoming. I believe that people are beginning to know that I am here for good …one way or another….I worked mass hours on Friday and Saturday and actually found myself working Sunday and today also which is normally my day off…but I have another funeral tomorrow to be completed and also a wedding that I have been working hard on this coming up weekend, along with homecoming in Toledo. This is the wedding with the Hawaiian Flowers (Silks/foam) from Hawaii. It has been alot of fun doing it and it is for a special friend to boot… Here are some pictures of the flowers but I am not totally done.

I will be taking pictures of all this when it is completed before Shawna picks them up. I will be helping them get arch all decorated for this wedding. It is going to be awesome when the time comes.. Most definitely a Hawaiian Theme…Can’t wait to see it finally together…
Well everyone have an awesome Fall.
Halloween is just about around the corner, so until next time CHOW!

Finally, I had a day to just play. We drove around loop to Mt Rainier and what a beautiful day it was. Relaxing and very much enjoyable. We took a picnic lunch and yes Camo’ (MO) tagged along with us. When we stopped to eat we decided that down the road maybe Mo needed to take a break, so him and I went for a little walk…. It was great time.. and what a beautiful site the mountain was!
